Part 1 Details 

The family of Mr. Wayne Atkins has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to honor his memory and service to our Country by standing a Flag Line at his funeral service, ride with him one last time and stand again at his inurnment.

After the Mission Brief, the Riders will establish the Flag Line and await the arrival of Mr. Atkins’ family and friends. When directed, the Riders will return the flags to the support vehicle, receive the Safety Brief and prepare to accompany the procession to the cemetery. Riders not participating in the procession will proceed to the cemetery and assist with setting up the flags

Part 2 Details 

After Bill Holcomb gives the Mission Briefing, four honor bikes will be identified and moved to the Staging Lane, if needed, to accompany the procession. The remainder of the Riders will proceed to the designated Committal Shelter, establish the Flag Line and prepare to receive the family and friends of Mr. Atkins. When directed the Riders will return the flags to storage, be debriefed and dismissed

Funeral Processions/Escorts

EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession. 

At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way.  Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.

If you choose to fly a flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic. 

                                                                                 High Temperatures

It's every RIDER'S PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to hydrate prior to attending a mission. 

Begin drinking water the night before.  Drink water when you wake up and continue drinking water all day to ensure your body stays hydrated.
