1st Lt Michael Ross, US Air Force, a Vietnam Era Veteran honorably served for approximately 2 years from July 15, 1971 through June 30, 1973. He was an OSI (Office of Special Investigation) Agent/Counter Intelligence Officer in New York and New Orleans. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Medal.

Part 1 Details 

The family of 1st Lt Michael Ross has requested the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders to honor his memory and service to our Country by standing the flag line at his Inurnment Service.

 

Prior to the riders briefing at the Visitor Center, four honor bikes will be selected to accompany the family vehicle to committal Shelter A. After the riders briefing, the PGR will stand the flag line at the designated shelter where we will "Stand tall and silent" in honor of an American Hero 1st Lt Michael Ross, US Air Force, his family and friends. Upon conclusion of the Inurnment Service, the flags will be furled and returned to storage followed by rider debrief and dismissal.

Funeral Processions/Escorts

EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession. 

At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way.  Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.

If you choose to fly a flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic. 

High Temperatures

It's every RIDER'S PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to hydrate prior to attending a mission. 

Begin drinking water the night before.  Drink water when you wake up and continue drinking water all day to ensure your body stays hydrated.
